  • customer review: I have purchased 3 of these in the last five years. I like the crema, the foamy head on top of my coffee. This makes a delightful mild cup of coffee. It isn't inexpensive, pods on average run from 25 cents to 50 cents a cup. Regular filter coffee is much less expensive, but it does not have the crema, nor the smooth taste this coffee does.

This is fairly easy to operate. It makes wonderful coffee. For me personally, I used this coffee machine once a day every day. But I purchased three of these in the last five years because the pots break. All three broke in a similar manner, the water will eventually just leak out the bottom and it won't make any coffee. This may be a problem with the water I use, but I do get spring water delivery, but I can't say why this has happened multiple times.

Another drawback of this machine is you are really limited in the brands of coffee that you can use for this machine. Primarily the Senseo brand is the most available, but I have purchased Folgers as well, but you can find a coffee you want to try and use it in this machine. I feel this is a major drawback. The Keuring single cup machines do sell a device where you can use your own coffee. Their coffee maker fails to make the crema that makes coffee from the Senseo maker so good.

I have mixed feelings towards this machine. For me, the machines don't last too long, the coffee pods are pricy, and their is a limited selection on the coffee that is available. The coffee that is made is very tasty, it is smooth, and creamy. I would urge anyone considering this type of coffee maker to keep these drawbacks in mind.

  • customer review: I had an MCP that was about 1.5 yrs old. I loved it, but when it started spitting out random amounts of water I was a bit miffed. I put up with it for a few weeks because I loved the coffee maker so much! But finally called Bunn customer service to try to troubleshoot the problem. The man I talked to was very nice, very helpful and sympathetic. After a few minutes of button pushing, he said he would have to RMA it & send me a new one. Yay. But it was going to take a few weeks (maybe up to 6?!) because they were a little backed up. Boo. He sent me a return label, postage paid, back to Bunn & I packed up my precious MCP and shipped it back FedEx. Much to my surprise, 10 days after I shipped it off, a brand new one arrived on my doorstep! Yay! I plugged it in, primed it and have been enjoying my coffee maker immensely ever since.

I love it. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting good quality coffee that tastes fresh every time. I also bought a pod maker so I make my own pods with whatever I want in them. Works beautifully (just don't pack the pod too tightly - it'll cause the holder to fill with water and drip). I recommended this machine to my boss - he bought one for home & loves it as well. He and his wife can each customize their own cup of coffee.

I also have a Keurig B70 which works fine, but if you don't use their K-cups, you really can't get a good cup of coffee out of it. Trust me, I tried - the My K Cup (weak) and the Pod Holster (weak). The only way to get a good strong cup is from their K-cups. I can't justify the waste (throwing 6 or 8 of those plastic cups in the trash every day) or what I thought was extreme expense.

Go for the Bunn. Yes it's a little pricey, but it's well worth it. Great machine, great customer service.

  • 28-ounce removable water tank; makes three mug-size servings before refilling is needed
  • customer review: I've owned my one:one pod machine for nearly 2 years now and surprisingly it's still pumping out coffee every day, the shortfall with this system is the pods. The machine itself rates a full 5 stars, made by esalton, has certainly proven to be a little workhorse. Fairly easy to clean, doesn't mind when you don't put a pod in wrong and water squirts out everywhere, it just keeps going and going, my beef with melitta is the pods. At first everything was peachy, the store where I purchased the machine always had the pods, then, supply got spotty and very few retailers carried this brand (they ALWAYS had plenty of pods for the other brands) which led me to order the pods from podheadz. After almost a year the original store started receiving a steady supply again. Now, in the spring of 2006, Melitta has started making their pods "universal", which means they fit the other brand machines, not they're own. Sure, you can stuff their pods into the machine which barely, and I do mean barely, fit. Why not stuff someone elses pods! An email to Melitta produced no answer whatsoever. Not only does it take some stuffing to get the pod into the pod holder, the pod contains more coffee, even the 8oz button produces a coffee so strong it's nearly undrinkable, and I like my coffee strong. Sure I could hang out and press the small button twice or something but that defeats the purpose of having a one button coffee machine and negates the "cup of coffee in about a minute" principal. Bottom line: Melitta has abondoned their own pod machine. My advice: buy a different machine, the the market really opening up there are plenty of better choices.
