    $11.99 $6.99
  • Oven and microwave safe
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Great for souffle, custards, as a serving dish, etc.
  • 6oz size
  • Made from glazed fine white porcelain
  • customer review: These ramekins are nice and simple. I've made souffles in them and it worked beautifully. The size is also nice for dessert items or for cooking prep. I think they are made in China but will check on that again.

The shipping is silly. I bought two sets and one set was packed securely in its original compartmentalized box and the other set was individually packed in bubble wrap bags then loosely put in a large box. The second set arrived with big chips in the ramekins. Amazon sent a replacement that also had chips but I was able to pick out six good ones out of the two sets. Seems to be a bit of a waste.

Le Creuset Stoneware 4-3/4-Ounce 4-Piece Ramekin Set, Red

    by Le Creuset (PG1527-08-67)

    $25 $24.99
  • Perfect for individual servings of custards or fruit desserts
  • Safe for use in oven, freezer, broiler, and microwave
  • 3-3/4 inches in diameter, 2-1/4 inches tall
  • Attractive horizontal ribbed design
  • Dishwasher-safe, may need presoaking
  • customer review: Yes, these are beautiful for fancy desserts and individual casseroles and such.

But folks in my stage of life will recognize them for their other legitimate use-- toddler food-holders. Their sturdy composition means I can reheat a bit of leftovers in the toaster oven (I'm a bit anti-microwave, but they work great there too). They're colorful, cute, and easy for little hands to grasp. My toddler's not a thrower, so I don't know if they'd stand up to repeated hurls, but they've been dropped before onto my wooden floors without any breakage.

One thing I hadn't seen mentioned in the reviews is their ability to hold temperature. Hot things stay hot, and cool things stay cold, as long as the containers have been heated or cooled themselves. That's handy.

My gal loves them and considers anything served in them to be HER food.

...but then, when she's in bed and we're entertaining adults, I can whip them out for some gorgeous cobblers, crisps, puddings or ice creams as well. I've served individual salsas and cheese dips in them at Mexican parties, and my husband and I often use them for portion control-- it's impossible to fit a dangerous amount of dessert in them. In other words, they're eminently useful for both our kiddo and adult worlds.

Can't say that about the rest of "her" dishes!

CorningWare French White 4-Ounce Ramekins, Set of 2

    by CorningWare (French White)

    $7.41
  • Durable stoneware material designed for use in oven, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer
  • Corningware material resists chipping and cracking
  • Non-porous surface does not absorb food odors, flavors, or stains
  • customer review: These will hold up to 3/4 cup, or about that amount or dried ingredients. You will then feel like a chef as you toss the ingredients into the bowl when mixing. You may also enjoy making individual size portions, you can use these for mini-souffles or to serve fruit salad for breakfast.

They are also very useful for dipping sauces or for bite-size vegetables and dip. We mix half mayonnaise and half Italian dressing so we can dip baby carrots into the creamy mixture. I use them all the time when serving a small portion of soup with a sandwich or when serving gravy
    with toasted chicken sandwiches.

When making certain recipes, you might want to measure out your ingredients before you start. (Known as: mise en place)

Also useful for when you are making spicy dishes and you want to mix up all the spices and add them all at once. When you are cooking rice, use these dishes to help shape a pile of rice (press freshly cooked rice into the ramekin) and then turn the dish over on a serving plate...then surround with sauce or your main dish servings. Very nice presentation!

Look for a "mini-whisk" for use when you want to mix up a small amount of ingredients in these very versatile dishes.

If for no other reason..buy them because they are SO cute!

Le Creuset Stoneware 4-3/4-Ounce 4-Piece Ramekin Set, Cobalt Blue

    $25 $24.95

  • Safe in oven, freezer, and microwave; available in several colors
  • customer review: I (the wife) bought these to make Creme Brulee in them. I was surprised by the physical size here, but they are the usual high quality from LeCreuset. The largest diameter is 3.25" at the top, outside measurement. Inside, useable diameter is only 2.5". Basically the size of my palm. Check these measurements against other bowls in your collection before buying! Height is 2" tall. Love that Gorgeous Cobalt Blue! Would make good prep bowls or condiment servers. Nice weight.

Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Bell Pepper Casserole Set, Set of 4, Assorted Colors

    by Le Creuset (PG2460-12)

    $100 $89.95
  • Set of 4 13-ounce petite bell pepper casseroles; 4-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches
  • Made of durable stoneware with nonporous enamel glazing
  • Design will not crack, scratch, chip, or craze with normal use
  • Sure-grip handles; tight-fitting lids with cool-touch knobs; colorful finishes
  • Safe in oven, freezer, and microwave for versatile use; also available singly
  • customer review: While the pepper shaped "petites" are slightly larger than the fruit shapes, 13 ounces is very optimistic. If you fill it to the brim and then never let the table shake, it probably wouldn't spill, but that's the only way 13 is possible.

If you're really going to bake in these, then 9-10 ounces is your upper limit. A good size for a single serving of baked lasagna, baked cheese grits, or tamale pie. A generous junior meatloaf or baked mac and cheese. Even a fitting pot to hold a real stuffed bell pepper (take it to the maket with you to make sure you get peppers that fit inside.)

The quality is excellent -- as always from Le Creuset.

The "awwwww" factor is very high and much appreciated on a festive auturm table.

Overall, a great product and an excellent gift.
