    I'll never try to cook crusty breads without a Cloche again, it makes a huge difference. Huge. Instead of a pale and bland loaf, I get a crisp crust with lots of color and tons of flavor.

    Contrary to the directions, I preheat my oven and Cloche for 30 minutes at 475 degrees. I prove my dough on round pieces of parchment paper, so after slashing, its easy to transfer the dough to the Cloche and put the lid on. I bake for 15 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for 17 more minutes. I'm at high altitude so your numbers may vary, but they shouldn't be too far off - this is for a loaf with 500 g flour and a 65% hydration.

  • customer review: This item is not nine inches wide. It is the same width as the seven stick cornstick pan, but costs ten dollars more. So you are paying ten dollars to get two extra cornstick molds of the same size. Hopefully, the item description will be changed soon. Now, I have to pack up and ship back several of these, but at least Amazon is paying the freight. Lodge Logic is the greatest for cooking and baking though. I think this is just a random error. Just be sure and buy the seven stick pan for 7.99. The cornsticks will be the same size.

  • customer review: This is a great little pan and lives up to the claims of being non stick. I did not have a bit of trouble with sticking. However, the Cactus shapes are very small and you need to use a small spoon to fill the designs. They are also very thin and will not hold much batter. Cornbread easily turns right out of the pan without sticking but they are so thin that you need to be extra careful not to break them. They are as cute as can be! Must admit that! Also, unless you can divide up a cornbread mix, figure on wasting about half of it unless you bake it in something else. By the time the first batch was done, my batter was to thick to get spooned & spread evenly into cactus shapes. Tried adding more liquid but just did not turn out right. This pan was a Great idea but if they would make the cavities deeper so bread wasn't so thin, it would be a perfect pan!

  • customer review: There aren't many downsides to using cast iron. This pan is fun to use and is a good alternative to using boring muffin cups when using corn bread mix. In order for it to be more stick resistant, you really need to follow the manufacturer's directions and season this pan, otherwise things will stick to it. It's easy to clean up once it's seasoned also, plus cast iron is very durable and the price was great on this for what you're getting.

Amazon shipped me a ROUND mold that looks nothing like the item pictured here, and would not be suitable for making a pandoro. Numerous attempts at customer service only resulted in additional ROUND molds being sent or offers for a refund. Look elsewhere if you actually want a STAR shaped mold. If you order here, you will get the wrong kind.

  • customer review: Some time ago I received a piece of Chantal bakeware. I had tried Pyrex, Corningware, as well as a batch of other name brands. Nothing in my baking arsenal compared to Chantal. I decided to bite the bullet and replace my entire bakeware collection with Chantal products. Has that ever been the right move!! Baking is a breeze.   • customer review: I know it's silicone, but you need to lubricate this pan a bit. If you do, you'll get an adorable teddy bear cake. On my first attempt, I decided to try it without - see how self-releasing the silicone really was. I then had some chunks of yummy cake to keep me company while I immediately mixed the batter for my second teddy bear cake.

    One side note, I did the cake itself and then mixed two batches of butter cream frosting - one vanilla and one coffee. Used the vanilla for the base frosting and the coffee for eyes, ears, muzzle, paws, and belly. The distinctions in these areas are harder to see once frosting is applied, so this both helped to make them stand out and added some visual and taste contrast. Yum!
