customer review: Place your batter in this, bake, cool and then fill the recessed middle with fruit and you have a beautiful looking cake. I used cooking spray even though this is a nonstick pan and the cake came out without a single flaw. My first cake was chocolate and I used cherry pie filling for the topping. Lots of ohhhhhs and yaaaaaaas without the work. Lends itself to a fantastic strawberry short cake! The pan is a solid weight and I expect to get many years of use.

customer review: I love this pan! The designs are beautiful and the shortbread tastes so good. After you bake and give it 10-15 minutes to cool, you flip it over onto a cutting board and cut while warm. Great pan!!

customer review: I bought this for my mom for Christmas since it was a cake pan that actually came with a metal lid and everything was in proper shape when it arrived. I was a little nervous however when I opened it from a very large thin box to find that it had absolutely no packaging around it to make sure that it didn't get damaged. Thankfully it looked fine and it appears to be working well.

customer review: This is not some flimsy bakeware set. Each piece has some weight behind it. They are very solid. Non-stick coating seems to withstand scratching from utensil use very well. I like this set so much, I ordered another. This set should not disappoint anyone.

customer review: Having more cookbooks then I care to admit, I have come across my fair share of recipes calling for an 8 inch square pan. I always in the past thought pan/dish were interchangeable which is not the case. I have used it many times and have yet to experience any rust upon washing it. So this indeed is a handy pan to have on hand when you come across those recipes!

customer review: I have a set of loaf pans made just like this cake pan, from the same manufacturer. They have given me several years of perfect service, so I was delighted to find this pan. I have used it once and washed it twice (in the dishwasher), and it is just as good as the loaf pans. It cooks evenly, and food does not want to stick to the surface. As one other reviewer mentioned, letting the pan soak would probably cause problems. I would be careful not to use a sharp knife to cut anything in the pan, nor would I scrub it with anything abrasive - that should all go without saying. With good care, I'm confident it will hold up for a very long time.

customer review: I bought this because the size is perfect for my convection oven but within 3 uses, the non-stick surface started bubbling just a little and on the 4th use, the non-stick stuff starting sticking and coming off stuck to the food. It's not healthy to eat the non-stick stuff. Had to stop using the pan. I thought maybe it's just one lemon so I bought another and the same thing happened. We don't have a dishwasher so you can't blame it on that. We used only "teflon" friendly utensils with it. It could be because the heating elements in our oven are so much closer (so the direct heat may be more intense?) then in a regular oven--but if that is so the manufacturer should have tested for this and put a warning out because this small size is ideal for small convection ovens and larger toaster ovens. Too bad, we really really really need bakeware of this size.

customer review: This made six beautiful pineapples. I would recommend buying two of these pans, my family didn't want to cut the little pineapples in half to share! I had no problems with the cakes sticking. I did use a spray oil in the bottom though. Someone who is crafty might want to color some of the cake mix green for the top of the pineapple. customer review: Chicago Metallic's products are solid, well-made pieces of kitchen equipment. Thinking the large size would allow me to use only one pan and have only one baking period, I purchased this item for making rolls. I was not mistaken in my thought process; however, I failed to consider that the pan would completely fill a standard-sized oven's rack. As a result, there seems to be less heat circulation than is desirable. In comparison to the interior rolls, this causes the rolls around the outside to be overbaked and somewhat dry . I've found I had to cover the top with foil and continue baking so that the interior rolls are done. However, I haven't found a way to keep the edge rolls from drying out. You will need muscles to lift this pan, especially when it is filled with dough or a large turkey. The pan is heavy and, unless you are a large person or a bodybuilder, awkward to handle. I rated this as three stars because of its size and weight; until you handle the actual pan, the measurements and weight provided are not meaningful. It is a quality product that many would rate as five stars without regard to my perceived negatives.

customer review: This is the best all-around pan you can own! It is incredibly versatile, and the non-stick is permanent, not a sprayed on layer-it won't peel off! As it is a nice heavyweight metal pan, treat it as you would cast-iron in the oven-bake things at a slightly lower temp, and they'll probably be done a few minutes sooner too! If I had the room, I'd own a dozen!

customer review: I bought this pan with the intention of making one large cake to cut into sections to make three or four (or six or eight) layer cakes. The pan is great; it heats evenly, has high enough sides to allow for a good rise, and fits in the oven (barely!). It's a very nice weight; not lightweight enough to dent or bend if accidentally dropped, but not heavy enough to be uncomfortable to handle. I have a few other FD pans, and they all seem to be good quality.
