customer review: I bought this as a gift for my husband who loves to make martinis and other mixed drinks -he is not really a "gadget" guy but finds this to be easy to use and the fact that it is insulated means that the contents stay nice and cold without "sweating".

customer review: This is a great-sized shaker that can make multiple drinks at once (even multiple doubles). Requires very little ice to make liquids cold quickly. Hasn't had any leaks or anything. Very pleased.

customer review: I've tried a variety of cocktail shakers and this is by far the best. Not only does it look elegant but it works very well. It also makes a great gift with a couple of Waterford martini glasses.

customer review: Stainless steel! It should be good not to rust. However this one did. When 'brushed' thin plate low grade stainless is used it will always rust. This shaker had the potential to be great, then they used the cheaper metal and in three days it was showing rust at the screen area. Save your money on this one and demand higher quality products from WMF. This one is not recommended.

customer review: Very sleek looking design, that said, very poor manufacturing very very poor, the thing leaked and leaked and leaked. I tried to modify it (I have access to a workshop) and managed to get it to seal a little bit better. But this should not have been necessary. I gave it one star but really it should get 1/2 a star at best. I am a big fan of OXO products and buy them with my eyes closed, I should have reviewed this product because I now see that other people have had the same complaint.

customer review: When I compared WMF's "Manhattan" and "Loft" lines of Boston style shakers, Amazon showed that the Loft was out of stock for a month. However, I checked back and saw that it became available before I even received the Manhattan, so I ordered the loft as well. I'm glad I did. The glass section is the identical shape, with the only difference being the markings. The S.S. section is very similar, with the only difference in the curved shape of the Loft style. While I prefer the Loft style aesthetically, the curve also helps hold the glass section a bit tighter when stored inside the S.S. section. I also found that my pint glasses will work as backups, if I ever break the supplied glass. I ordered the Boston Style with a little hesitation, as I've seen numerous reviews stating the difficulty for novices to obtain an adequate seal. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have any problems. The Loft strainer is also very nice and matches and fits perfectly with both shakers.

customer review: This shaker is a piece of garbage. For starters, the shipper sends it to you in the retail box with no padding. If that doesn't ensure that the shaker will be bent when it gets to you, you'll wish that it was, because the shaker is worthless. The 'stainless' steel is rusting after only 2 months, and the shaker top is infuriatingly impossible to remove, because it sits inside the 24 oz. resevoir. I'm getting the high-rated Ultimo 24-ouncer and sending this one to the Chinese junk heap where it belongs. Better yet, back to the seller for a refund on the 'lifetime warranty'.

customer review: I purchased this because my current shaker leaked. Before this, though, I purchased an expensive shaker with a silicon seal from an expensive national kitchen store. The silicon seal on that one came apart, and I had to send it back. I'm reasonably pleased with this shaker, though. The glass on mine, unlike that of a previous reviewer, is glass and not plastic. In a perfect world, the stainless steel would be a thicker gauge, but the shaker does what it should, the seal works well, and it comes off for cleaning.

customer review: My daughter is a bird person. She has 5 parrots of various sizes and is crazy about anything having to do with birds. She is a real "parrothead." I also built her a tiki bar with a real thatched roof which she keeps in her family room. Her tiki bar is always open to guests whenever they drop by. One thing she doesn't have for the tiki bar is a cocktail shaker. So, I searched Amazon.com (my favorite on-line store) to see if I could find a good one to give her for Christmas. I ran across this penguin shaped shaker which really looked cool and would fit in with her interests. I ordered it and it came really fast. This is a fantastic product. Very good quality. To anyone interested in this shaker for themselves, the penguin head is not made for pouring. It might look like you could pour through the beak, but this is not the case. The penguin head comes off and leaves a spout for pouring. The spout has a filter in it so that you can pour your drink and leave the ice behind. If you want to pour ice and drink into your drink glass, you can remove the shaker lid altogether and pour it all into your glass. This is a quality shaker. I am thinking of buying one for myself even though I already have a shaker for my own home bar. This is really a conversation piece if you like to make mixed drinks at home. It is sure to please your friends.
