Vacu Vin Wine Saver Extra Stoppers, Set of 4by Vacu Vin Inc. (85218) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() | | customer review: I could write several paragraphs but suffice it to say if you vacuum seal wine that you haven't decanted or left open for a week, it'll remain fresh for at least a couple weeks. | Vacu Vin 3-Piece Wine Saver Gift Pack, Whiteby Vacu Vin Inc. (98125) ![]() customer review: The Vacuum Wine Saver works as advertised in that it develops a vacuum over wine left in the bottle which "keeps" the wine and pulls the included stopper more deeply into the bottle. This vacuum is well maintained until you push the crown of the stopper horizontally which easily releases the vacuum and allows the bottle to be reopened. The only problem is the hand pump supplied to develop the vacuum. Pumping it the required number of strokes to make the whole thing work properly requires a good grip and good hand, wrist, and arm strength. If you are an older individual (like me) and have significant and painful hand and wrist arthritis (also like me) you may not be able to pump to a sufficient vacuum. Otherwise I love it. | Orka Wine Pourer and Stopperby ORKA (A03339) ![]() customer review: This is a very artistic design and does invite some comments. It pours well and is functional. But, it is not a stopper. It leaks a drop every few minutes out of the valve. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed in that, but other here have made that observation as well. Also, be advised that you only get one item, not four as the picture shows. Even though it's nice, I probably won't be getting any more of them. | Vacu Vin Concerto 3-Piece Wine Saver Setby Vacu Vin Inc. (989450) ![]() customer review: I've been using this fairly consistently for the few weeks since I bought it. Everything works great. It seems to save the quality of the wine well. It does feel the tiniest bit a little cheap on the construction. Nothing has happened, but when I pump the air out of the bottles, the plastic feels a little brittle. But like I said, so far, no problems, does the job, works great, I'm happy. | Vacu Vin Wine Saver Extra Stoppers, Set of 2by Vacu Vin Inc. (8845) ![]() customer review: These are the first stoppers that I have ever found that are easy to insert and remove and not leak! | WMF Vino Stainless-Steel 4-Way Funnelby WMF (658446040) ![]() customer review: Well, I should have read the feedback before purchasing, my bad! I bought this item because it looked awesome, and it does in person, in fact, even more impressive. However, after trying with over 10 bottles now I was miffed because (as the lead review states, which again, my bad for not reading) it doesn't fit in a single one! I decant just about every red that passes through my lips for at least a couple of hours and I have several decanters that work well. And this device works well with all my decanters. HOWEVER, most of my decanted reds I need to funnel BACK into the bottle because I then proceed to a restaurant to enjoy with a fine meal (and I really can barely cook popcorn or noodles). So my need to place most of these back in the bottle has been thwarted. I just can't walk into a restaurant with a decanter, it would make me look even more pretentious than I already am by bringing my own wine.
| In summary, awesome looking unit, just wished they had made the stem longer and skinnier so it could serve my purposes. Selection Pourer For Decantingby HomeAndWine.com $19.89 customer review: I have had one for several years now and am very pleased with how it improves the quality of the wine. It's easy to use and clean. It largely eliminates the need to let red wines breathe for several hours. | Metrokane Vacuum Wine Stoppers, Set of 4by Metrokane (5578) ![]() customer review: I haven't used the items yet, they were bought at a gift, but they arrived on time and looking good! | Menu Vignon Decanting Pourersby HomeAndWine.com (4653039) ![]() The Menu patented Decanting Pourers filter, split, and oxygenate the wine as you pour. Goodbye to decanters and too many bottles opened before dinner, Drip-free and easy to use | Global Decor 170 Rotating 4 Bottle 1-1/2-Ounce Drink Dispenserby Global Décor (170) ![]() $39.99 customer review: I bought this for a friend's bday present. It is a great addition to her bar in her house, but I think it is a little overpriced for the dispenser. It's not that sturdy. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but I had higher expectations. | Oxo Steel Combination Wine Stopper & Pourerby OXO (1063936) $10.99 customer review: Nice idea, poor product. I have had 5 of these fail on me with only a few months use. The lever becomes very stiff. Eventually the linkage inside the stopper breaks rendering the lever useless. OXO customer service sent immediate replacements however all the replacements have failed as well. It's time for OXO to go back to the drawing board on this one! | Wine Enthusiast Private Preserve Wine Preservation Sprayby Private Preserve ![]() customer review: I've been drinking and saving partial bottles of wine for years with this stuff. I've played with those wine vacuum pumps in the store, and I can tell you from experience using vacuum bells in engineering labs, that there is no way those little pumps and seals could remove enough atmosphere to make a substantial impact in lowering wine oxidation.
| As for the amount of gas in the bottles, I usually purchase Private Preserve by the case, in an unopened box, and I've never had an issue. I can usually get at about 100 uses from a can. I think the instructions on the back are over-simplified; when the bottle is brand new and the pressure is high, you have to cut the amount of spraying time at least in half, if not more. Then gradually increase the amount of time as the pressure decreases. Remember; only the surface area of the exposed wine needs to be covered, which is pretty small, and not the entire remaining empty volume. Wine Enthusiast Pulltaps Professional Waiters Corkscrew- Blackby The Wine Enthusiast ![]() customer review: I hate the elaborate, bulky and complex type of wine opener. This small gadget works extremely well, because of the dual "steps" in the bottle brace, allowing two different angles for the lever pull. | Superseal Champagne Stopperby Home Bar Source ![]() $7.49 customer review: If you like Champagne/sparkling wine, but can't always drink a whole bottle, this works great to keep it bubbly for at least a day. No, the wine won't be quite as "fresh", but it will be nearly as bubbly and flavorful. Pull it out as soon as you open the bottle and put it on after you're done pouring the first round. Keeps the bubbles flowing all night! | Simpson Talking Beer Openerby Pacific Direct ![]() customer review: I've loved my opener since when I found it that one day and knew I must have it! Enjoyed for years and even used it on my show to open beers and listeners heard Homer do his thing - one bad note is that the replacement batteries will cost you more than the initial cost of the unit - Doh!!! | Metrokane V-Gaugeby Metrokane (6510) customer review:
| Unlike other wine-stopper vacuum systems that I've tried in the past, this one actually holds a vacuum. And with the handy gauge on it, you can tell. I tested it, and it held for 5 days. Oxo SteeL Wine Stopperby OXO (1063938) ![]() customer review: I've been using one of these for a year on just two brands of wine which is all I buy. One bottle opening is slightly bigger then the other and this stopper has always been in one or the other with the bottle always on its side. Once in a while I see a slight drip on the shelf with the bigger bottle but not often. Prior to the Oxo I recieved another brand set of fancy stoppers as a gift but they had a steep taper to the rubber part and testing it out standing vertical it always pushed itself out by the next day. I believed the taper was causing it so I tossed them and went back to plain old corks again. I bought the Oxo because it had little or no taper to it and I thought it would work better and it did. I'm very pleased with it and I'm writing this review since I'm here to order some more for myself and for gifts. It works well on my two brands of wine but don't know how much other bottles vary on the opening size. I might be just lucky but I think it's worth trying at least one. | Orka Wine Pourer and Stopper, 3 Packby ORKA ![]() $12.99 Get a fabulous pour that is easy and controlled without splashing or dripping!
