![]() | | customer review: After reading recent issue of Consumers Report, I ordered the top rated KitchenAid DCC1200. I got a very good price of $63 including shipping. It works better than any coffee maker I have ever owned. I recommend it. | Black & Decker DCM18S Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mugby Black & Decker (DCM18S) ![]() customer review: If this was taller you could use most any cup with it. Makes a great cup of coffee or hot water to go. | Black & Decker DCM7 Cup-At-A-Time Coffeemaker, Whiteby Black & Decker (DCM7) ![]() customer review: After receiving another brand for a gift, and having it just stop working after 2 months, Black and Decker came to the rescue! This coffee maker is perfect for the dorm room and makes incredibly HOT coffee quickly! We will purchase it again! You should too! | Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Makerby Zojirushi (EC-BD15BA) ![]() customer review: I bought my Zojirushi machine a month ago and so far so good. (I say this as my husband and I seem to have bad coffee machine karma, always breaking them.) I gave it 4 not 5 stars because the coffee filter area is a little difficult to use. Filter has to be tangled with a bit to get it in and the arm that dispenses water has to be moved away and then back to position.
| Makes good tasting coffee. One warning--there is a cap on top of pot that must be removed before brewing. It gets put on after coffee is made to keep it hot. Sounds obvious, but I screwed up and had it on (fortunately for only a minute) the first pot I brewed. Black & Decker DCM2500B SmartBrew Coffeemakerby Black & Decker (DCM2500B) ![]() customer review: Very reasonable price on a very good coffee maker. Easy to program for "next morning" coffee. Easy to prepare for immediate coffee. Cleans up easy, I am glad I purchased this item and it was a Consumer Reports best buy item. I am very satisfied | Braun KF590 Impressions Digital 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemakerby Braun (KF590) ![]() customer review: Makes good coffee, usual problems with glass carafe, but the big problem is the basket mechanism. It gets stuck and the "brew" stays in overtime. This happened virtually right out of the box.
| Braun advised us to order a replacement basket, pay the cost, fax them the bill for reimbursement. Seems like a NEEDLESS hassle for the consumer. When you order online, ya pays ur money and takes ur chances, eh?! Cuisinart DGB-550BK Grind-and-Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemakerby Cuisinart (DGB-550BK) ![]() customer review: service was quick and accurate but this was a gift so am unable to say altho they have said many times how good the coffee is | Black & Decker DCM18 Brew 'N Go Coffeemakerby Black & Decker (DCM18) ![]() customer review: The reason that I brought this coffee machine was because it said that it had a permanent reusable coffee filter that came along with the machine. I was thinking that I wouldn't have to buy anymore coffee filters, but it turns out that I had to continue buying coffee filters, because little pieces of the coffee beans kept going through the filter and into my drink. I would not recommend this product. | Cuisinart DGB-600BC Grind and Brew, Brushed Chromeby Cuisinart (DGB-600BC) ![]() customer review: After reading many of the vitriolic reviews this little machine has invoked, I was almost convinced to stick with my old Braun Aromaster.
| My wife and I visited Lowe's to see the DGB600BC and the various Bunn machines. She liked the looks of the Cuisinart, so you can guess which unit we purchased....... I was not overly optimistic about the purchase after seeing all of the nitpicky negative posts in this review forum, but after using this machine for a month or so, I have to say that it makes a very good pot of coffee! The grinder is loud and doesn't grind fine enough for me(I like strong coffee), but the wife likes the autogrind feature. PROS: The Thermal Carafe: Outstanding, it keeps the coffee piping hot for a couple hours, if you warm it up first. No more burnt coffee from sitting on a hot warmer. The Gold Filter Basket: I hate paper filters, this was another selling point for me. Appearance: It looks very nice on the countertop, I love the black /stainless look. Price: It was on sale, picked it up for $100.00 Programmable: Easy to set up and use CONS:(these are all MINOR in my book) More parts to clean: especially if you use the grinder all the time. Grinder: Loud and grinds to coarse(for me) Grinder has to be in place to make a pot of coffee Final Comment: I would definitely recommend this machine. Our friends have had the same unit(in Red) for a year or so and report that it's been a good trouble free machine. I hope this helps in your decision. Paul BUNN BTX-B ThermoFresh 10-Cup Thermal-Carafe Home Coffee Brewer, Blackby Bunn (BTX-B) ![]() customer review: I just got this coffee maker a few days ago to replace a programmable Mr. Coffee. The Mr. Coffee was only a few months old, but it was terrible, the heating plate rusted, and the delay brew stopped working. My wife hates the taste of coffee when it has sat on a hot plate, so this seemed like the perfect solution. I had looked at Bunn makers before, but was always turned away by the higher price. I am very happy that I finally made the purchase. The construction is top notch. It brews lightning fast. It uses the same method that restaurant and coffee shop makers use, which are also typically Bunn. The carafe keeps the coffee piping hot for hours. I love the simple, commercial style of it. You can tell that it is a maker designed to last for years. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for the Bunn. You won't be disappointed, and the most important part, The coffee taste's great! | Senseo HD7810/65 1450-Watt Single-Serve Coffeemaker, Blackby Senseo (HD7810/65) ![]() customer review: I have purchased 3 of these in the last five years. I like the crema, the foamy head on top of my coffee. This makes a delightful mild cup of coffee. It isn't inexpensive, pods on average run from 25 cents to 50 cents a cup. Regular filter coffee is much less expensive, but it does not have the crema, nor the smooth taste this coffee does.
| This is fairly easy to operate. It makes wonderful coffee. For me personally, I used this coffee machine once a day every day. But I purchased three of these in the last five years because the pots break. All three broke in a similar manner, the water will eventually just leak out the bottom and it won't make any coffee. This may be a problem with the water I use, but I do get spring water delivery, but I can't say why this has happened multiple times. Another drawback of this machine is you are really limited in the brands of coffee that you can use for this machine. Primarily the Senseo brand is the most available, but I have purchased Folgers as well, but you can find a coffee you want to try and use it in this machine. I feel this is a major drawback. The Keuring single cup machines do sell a device where you can use your own coffee. Their coffee maker fails to make the crema that makes coffee from the Senseo maker so good. I have mixed feelings towards this machine. For me, the machines don't last too long, the coffee pods are pricy, and their is a limited selection on the coffee that is available. The coffee that is made is very tasty, it is smooth, and creamy. I would urge anyone considering this type of coffee maker to keep these drawbacks in mind. Cuisinart DCC-450BK 4-Cup Coffeemaker with Stainless-Steel Carafe, Blackby Cuisinart (DCC-450BK) ![]() customer review: I bought this for my elderly Dad. I like the design and the use of conical filters. I also like the 30 minute shut off. I don't like filling it. The carafe has a rim that makes it difficult to fill as well as awkward to pour. It is difficult for my able hands and impossible for his. | Presto 02811 12-Cup Stainless Steel Coffeemakerby Presto (19208) ![]() customer review: We've owned our Presto for about 4 years now and love it....so when my parents' old percolator croaked and mom wanted a replacement, we didn't hesitate....I went straight to amazon.com and happily made the purchase, which was promptly delivered to them.
| Our understanding is that both my parents are happily drinking great cups of hot coffee daily!!! Thank you Presto.... Susan and Carl Cuisinart DTC-975BKN Programmable Automatic Brew-and-Serve 12-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Blackby Cuisinart (DTC975BKN) customer review: I was really excited about this coffee maker after my old Mr Coffee maker went bad and I had to push the start button every 30 seconds.
| I have a Caribou Coffee in my building (Obsidian dark roast rocks!) and was used to making pretty close to that quality coffee at home with my Mr Coffee. I was hoping for the same with this Quisinart, and I even ordered the Gold Filter too! Well, here's the short summary: I was completely dissatisfied with the brew. Weak, burnt, metal tasting. I ditched the gold filter right away thinking it contributed to the metal taste. I tried everything, but it still took twice as much coffee as I was used to (almost 2 tablespoons per cup) to make it not taste like water, and even then it had a burnt metal taste. I never figured out why it had the taste it did, but it seemed like the material of the carafe may have contributed to the bad taste since the smell of it kind of tasted like the flavor of the coffee. I finally just returned it to Bed Bath Beyond--If you feel you have to try this coffee maker, get it from there since they have a great return policy--no questions asked even after I used it for close to 6 months. Everything else about this coffee maker is just like the other reviews say, even the 5 star reviews, but at the end of the day, it's the taste of the coffee that matters and not anything else. I'm back on the hunt to replace my thermal Mr Coffee that had to go and die on me. Braun KF510-WH AromaDeluxe 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Whiteby Braun (KF510-WH) ![]() customer review: I've owned this coffeemaker for four years and love it still. It works great and makes excellent coffee. I recently bought another identical one for our guest house. This coffeemaker may not have all the elaborate features of more expensive ones, but it makes great coffee and, afterall, that's why we have these appliances. | Cuisinart TTG-500 Two-to-Go Coffeemakerby Cuisinart (TTG-500) ![]() customer review: Prompt delivery. This is our second purchase for this product and it is still great and convenient for the one or two of us. | Capresso 441.05 MT-500 Plus 10-cup Coffeemaker with Metallic Alloy Body and Stainless Thermal Carafeby Capresso (441.05) ![]() customer review: After reading all the positive reviews, I just had to get one of these. One week later, I'm returnng it. I'm guessing I got a defective machine, since this many people can't be wrong...
| I simply cannot get it to brew a "normal" cup of coffee: I'm not looking for Peet's quality or even Dunkin' Donuts. Just a passable cup of coffee. I've read through the manual several times (and c'mon, it's not rocket science: everyone knows how to use an automatic drip coffeemaker). I've fiddled with finer grinds; switching filters; doubling the amount of coffee... but no matter I do I end up with an extremely weak cup. And it's not like I'm a coffee snob, but the coffee this machine delivers is more like brown-tinted hot water than coffee. When I followed the instructions and brewed 1 scoop of medium grind per cup, it came out very very week. (You could *see* it as you pour: it looked like a very strong cup of tea, not coffee.) By "cup" I'm referring to numbers on the side of the machine, which presumably are 4-5 ounce servings. So I tried using heaping scoops: still weak. Then I switched to a darker roast and a finee grind: still weak. Then I tried two scoops of fine grind per cup and finally got something approaching a regular cup of coffee. But that just doesn't make sense: if I wanted to make 10 cups of coffee I would have to use 20 scoops, and the manual says to never put more than 12-14 scoops in the filter. So clearly something's wrong. Over at coffeegeek.com there are a couple discussions about this topic, so it appears that maybe 3-4 people out of 100 have a problem with their machine brewing weak coffee. Perhaps the water isn't dispersing properly over all the grounds; or perhaps it's not getting to the advertised 200-degree temperature. I think it brews too quickly: it brews 6 cups in 5 minutes: it looks like the water just burrows straight through the center of the grinds instead of spending sometime in the filter basket actually making coffee. Whatever the problem is, it's really aggravating to finally spend $$$ on a premium machine and have it end up being a piece of junk. I've owned a bunch of different automatic drip coffeemakers over the years (replaced when the glass carafe broke) and this is the first time I've ever had trouble brewing a decent cup. Perhaps it's unfair of me to give a bad review if it's truly a defective unit. But when they charge $189 for a coffeemaker, they need to get it right the first time. Mainly, I wanted to post this review so that if someone else has the same problem, they won't think they're crazy! I've been tearing my hair out for tghe last 7 days. DeLonghi DC514T Esclusivo 14-Cup Programmable Drip Coffeemakerby Delonghi (DC514T) ![]() customer review: I've had my DeLonghi Esclusivo coffeemaker for exactly 3 months. It brewed the best tasting coffee I've ever had. It was my favorite coffee maker by far for the following reasons: Coffee is delicious -slow brewing permits a more robust coffee. Small footprint on my counter. Stylish design. VERY easy to program and use. Large opening through which to pour water. Charcoal filter to purify water. Automatic shut off. Caraffe has large opening for easy cleaning. NON-DRIP POURING!! I was in heaven with this coffeemaker and knew I'd found the perfect one. (I've had many in my lifetime.)
| Unfortunately, two days ago, the plastic surrounding the hot plate began to melt. The vendor from whom I purchased it has already refunded my money and has asked me to return it. I will NOT purchase another one for fear of fire hazard. This coffeemaker would have received 10 stars from me had it not begun to melt itself to death. For this reason, I'm heartsick.....it WAS the perfect coffeemaker. Cuisinart DCC-100 Coffee Bar Classic 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Whiteby Cuisinart (DCC-100) ![]() customer review: This is our third purchase of this coffee maker. Yes the glass urn does break. Otherwise the subtle ways in which Cuisinart has designed this coffee maker brings out a high quality taste. We use the 4-cup feature, and it does make a difference in controlling the rate by which the water drips into the grounds.
| You must take care to close the filter holder shut, or there could be a drip problem. It's a shame our local retailers do not carry this particular maker. Thanks, Amazon, for keeping this in stock. But the next time we break the urn, we would love to be able to just buy the urn.
