End Grain Cheese Slicer BB 120by Prodyne (BB-120) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
$18.95 | | customer review: I'm very pleased with this slicer. It's not overly large, but certainly big enough to tackle most of the cheese slicing tasks I encounter. It got quite the workout over the holidays when my family, serious cheese-lovers all, descended for a visit. This little unit held up beautifully, showing no signs of wear and tear.
| Be sure to read the enclosed instructions -- the slicer is shipped with the slicer mechanism a little off-center. You need to pull the handle out about 1/2" in order to line up the cutting wire with the slot. After that, it's fine, but don't try to slice cheese with this until you've made that adjustemnt or you could break the wire. The instructions explain what you need to do. In my opinion, this is the closest thing to a perfect cheese slicer that I've found. Trudeau Adjustable Cheese Slicerby Trudeau Corp. (099-830) ![]() customer review: This is the best cheese slicer I've ever used, and I like cheese! Definitely worth the price - you won't be disappointed. | Anolon Cheese Slicerby Anolon (52201) $10 customer review: Well made and does exactly as designed, almost.
| I use it on blocks of sharp cheddar and when you reach the end of the slice it does not finish smoothly. It tends to rip off a chunk of the edge. My other slicer glides thru and off with a nice finish. I'll next have to check the angle of the cutting edge vs the older. Prodyne Green Marble Cheese Slicerby Prodyne (603-MG) ![]() $15.5 customer review: I have had a Prodyne marble cheese slicer since about 1996 and it is the best cheese slicer ever. Mine is still on its original wire. (I am going to order a new wire soon, though, because it's getting a little stretched out). Much safer than using a knife on a hard block of cheese, and I get very consistent slices, no matter how thin. This is one of my favorite and most-used kitchen gadgets. Highly recommended! | RSVP White Marble Cheese Slicerby RSVP ![]() $12.85 customer review: This is a great cheese slicer. I looked at many that were alot more in cost, and this one is better than the more expensive ones. Great buy | Cheese Slicer Wireby Fox Run Craftsmen $1.5 customer review: For the amount of shipping I paid for this, you would think it would be shipped in something other than an envelope. To top it off, it didnt even really cost that much to ship. All that was on it was a normal stamp. I would not buy this again. | Cheese Slicer Wires for #GCS & #WMCS (set of 4)by RSVP ![]() $1.99 Set of 4 Slicer Wires for the RSVP Green and White Marble Cheese Slicer (GCS & WMCS) | KitchenAid KG133ER Professional Series Cheese Slicer, Redby KitchenAid (KG133ER) ![]() This versatile cheese slicer glides through hard or semi-soft cheeses with ease and makes light work of creating cheese trays or hors d’oeuvres for a party. The slicer measures 7-3/4 inches from head to handle’s end and has a thick plastic handle with stainless-steel accents for more controlled movements. The head of the slicer has a 4-inch-wide wire and roller made of heavy-duty stainless steel, which is less likely to snap under pressure when cutting through heavier cheeses. For additional durability, the wire and roller are mounted to a sturdy fiberglass-reinforced nylon frame with cast bolsters. This professional-level slicer is dishwasher-safe for easier cleanup. KitchenAid offers a hassle-free replacement warranty on this slicer during the first year of ownership and a lifetime limited warranty on it thereafter. --Cristina Vaamonde | KitchenAid Professional Cheese Slicer, Whiteby KitchenAid (KG133WH) ![]() customer review: This is the best cheese slicer, great price too. The weight of the handle is perfect, the slicing is perfect. Great product and good value. | RSVP Classic Green Marble Cheese Slicerby RSVP ![]() $13.95 customer review: I've ordered two of these cheese slicers from the same company. Both times, the attached slicing wire was broken. Fortunately, two replacement wires were included. Since both of these slicers were given as gifts, however, it was quite embarrassing to have the recipients open a package that was damaged and had to be fixed from the onset. I'd suggest if you purchase this slicer, you open the box to inspect it before gift-wrapping in case the wire needs replaced. Aside from the wire issue, the product is solid, attractive, and durable. | Oxo Good Grips Cheese Planeby OXO (26581) ![]() customer review: After messing around with cheese knives and cheese wires, I finally found something that's easy to use and does a great job. This device consistently slices the cheese in thin enough slices to be good on crackers. Plus I've washed it in the dishwasher numerous times and the blade has not become dull. Definitely worth the price and space in the gadget drawer. | WMF Profi Plus Stainless-Steel Cheese Slicerby WMF (1871566030) ![]() customer review: Works great on the softer cheeses. Easy to clean, just pop it in the dish washer. Perfect size slices. | Rösle Cheese Planeby Rosle USA (12738) ![]() customer review: Made in Germany this 9" stainless steel cheese plane is both handsome and utilitarian. We've had great good fortune slicing Cheddar, Parmesan, and other hard cheeses. | The plane is certainly sturdy and light enough to be easily used. A handle, approximately 4" long and 1/2" in diameter, fits nicely into the palm of your hand. It comes from the dishwasher looking shiny new, and has a handy hanging loop at the tip of the handle. Pedrini Black & Satin Stainless Steel Cheese Slicerby Pedrini (7008-815) ![]() $7.99 customer review: I bough this one to replace my old one. LONG/SHORT..My old one works better. Debating returning it, but probably not worth the effort. | Mario Batali The Italian Kitchen Collection Mozzarella Slicerby Copco (0-49111) ![]() customer review: I've purchased several Batali products and have been more than pleased. So I didn't hesitate at all when I saw the Batali name even though this seemed a bit expensive. But I challenge anyone to slice a large piece of mozzarella with this. I have to cut them into 1/2" to 1" thick pieces and then "carefully" slice them with this slicer. I use it about once a week when I make pizza and am surprised it hasn't already broken. | R÷sle Wire Cheese Slicerby Rosle USA (12723) ![]() customer review: I would recommend this product to everyone. It is extremely easy to use. It saves lots of time and each piece of cheese is uniformly cut. | Zyliss Dial-n-Slice Cheese Slicerby Zyliss (11390) ![]() customer review: I really like this slicer. Unlike the old wire slicers, it cuts evenly and easiliy without bending or snagging. | Oxo Good Grips Angled Measuring Bucketby OXO (1059693) ![]() customer review: I contacted customer service ahead of time to ensure the correct product would be sent, and it was. Pretty nice bucket as buckets go. Maybe a bit steep in price, but with the separate tote insert and the fact that it's wider than most buckets, I think it's a good buy. | Prodyne White Marble Cheese Slicerby Prodyne (601MW) ![]() $14.75 customer review: i picked this up for my folks 5 or 6 years ago.. it is still in daily use!
| a nice heavy, but compact cutter on a quality marble-ish platform. the unit sits on non-skid rubber feet, and cuts like it should! a great product, that actually works and holds up! KitchenAid Professional Cheese/Food Mill, Whiteby KitchenAid (KG309WH) customer review: Bought one of these in my search for a good cheese grater to replace my sadly inadequate KitchenAid KG301 rotary model (see reviews on this before buying...they capture the problems well). After using this once, you have to ask: "what were they thinking?" The cutting disks can fit into the device both ways though only one way cuts, the disk is difficult to line up properly in the unit, and frankly doesn't cut well with my main use for parmigiano reggiano...it almost powders it. Worse, the circular hand motion needed to grate is fine for, say, a pepper mill for which only a small amount is needed. For this, the repetitive twisting and small yield are unacceptable.
| For those of you like me who have and love the superb and unbeaten KitchenAid stand mixers, this device and the rotary grater are not in anywhere near the same quality and usefulness league. Another cheese grater of no value to me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
