customer review: I bought this at Whole Foods for $22 plus tax, because I needed it right away. It's cheaper on amazon, but still pricey for a strainer. You may wonder why it costs so much more than other strainers. Well, as one other reviewer pointed out, it actually has a double layer of mesh, making it mush sturdier than other strainers, and able to keep its shape. Nothing out there compares. I used it to sift dry ingredients for baking, but I also intend to use it to make vegetable stock. You will not be disappointed with this strainer!

customer review: I was looking for a very fine strain mainly to use to strain very small grains such as quinoa which needs to be rinsed before cooking. This strainer is perfect and is also very well constructed.

customer review: Like another reviewer, I bought this item specifically to wash rice. I tried many other methods while waiting on this strainer to arrive. Trust me, this is the way to go. I love the feet that allow it to set balanced in the sink. The rubber handles are also great for grip. Another main reason for choosing this particular item was the higher quality steel it is made with. I didn't want one that would rust. So far, so good.

customer review: If your kitchen lacks a small strainer... you can't do better than have one of these! Perfect for straining out lemon pips, or anything else that calls for a tablespoon of something or other, strained! This strainer is extremely well built and will last for years and years. customer review: Great quality. perfect for macaroni, as the holes aren't large enough to let the noodles slip through. Also, it might be useful as a weapon, assuming you needed one... You could probably... probably crush someone's skull in with a forceful swing if it came to that. just kidding. it's pretty lightweight.

customer review: i love this colander. i have had one for about two years and it is so convenient that when i got a second home, i had to get another one. it streches to hang on any sized sink, so what is being strained does not sit in the dirty sink water, and it folds nicely to fit in my cabinet along side the pots and pans. it is sturdy and easy to use.

customer review: This colander is wonderful! It is big enough for vegetables, pasta, etc. But it collapses and takes up no space in your cabinet. My old colander takes up half the cabinet. I installed a sticky hook inside my cabinet door and I hang this colander there. What a space saver! And it's from OXO, just love all their products.

customer review: Works very well for rinsing greens, grapes, etc. Water obviously flows easily through the small holes but cleaning dried pasta starch from the tiny openings is a hateful process. If pasta is often on your menu I'd look for other straining methods.

customer review: This is a clever design, and well made. Most colanders take up a huge amount of space in a cabinet, but thanks to the collapsible nature of this one, you need only a few inches of vertical space to store it.

customer review: For years, I'd struggled with heaving pots of boiling water to the sink and attempting to dump the contents into a colander, where the backwash of hot water would inevitably flood whatever I was cooking and end up splashing me in the process. Last year I ended up purchasing the Oxo convertible colander, which is a lifesaver (that, and buy a pasta pot). It has foldable legs that extend to fit over the edges of your sink, holding the colander in place so you can keep both hands on the pot of boiling water. The holes wrap around the sides and the bottom, so your contents drain evenly. When you're finished, the legs simply fold down and you can slide the colander onto a shelf for easy storage (it's also a great place to stash frequently used baking / cook's tools such as mini pastry rollers and tartlette pans). This is definitely one of the handiest, best-designed kitchen tools I own.

customer review: I use this to wash little amounts of things (like fruit or veggies) when I don't want to use the big colander. It's also great for scooping things out of boiling water (like Spätzle or dumplings) and is really durable. Just about the perfect length to stradle a sink for draining. Highly recommend!

customer review: There are plenty of holes evenly-spaced around the basket. The handle feels strong and comfortable making this a pleasure to use. It's a pretty opaque blue; I like to look at, hanging with my pots n pans. The size fits perfectly in my 3-qt. Cuisinart Chef's Classic saucepan, it's as tho they were made for each other. Liked this strainer so much, I'm purchasing the 3.5-qt. colander in the matching blue. I hope it stands up well in the sink, like standard metal and hard-plastic ones.
