![]() | | customer review: I still find it difficult to believe that such a good roaster as this one can only cost $40, but I am glad we bought one from Amazon. Our first turkey that we cooked was this Thanksgiving (2008), and we did so with this roaster. We cooked the 18 pounder at 500 degrees F for 30 minutes, then lowered the temp to 375 degrees F for about 2.5 hours. We monitored the breast temp with a temp probe until it reached 165 degrees F. Then we took it out. Boy, oh, boy, this bird came out looking beautiful. I am sure the roaster had a whole lot to do with it. And of course it tasted delicious and juicy. We did brine the turkey for 16 hours before roasting it. Clean up of the pan was quick, less than a minute using water, soap, sponge, and very little effort. The roaster will be used again for the Christmas turkey. We will use a different brine recipe, but I'm sure that this roaster is going to perform well again. Thanks Amazon for the free 2 day shipping, no tax applied, and the great price. This product made the clean up after the Thanksgiving turkey a breeze. Good, solid, heavy duty roasting pan without the messy non-stick surface that never gets clean. | Granite Ware 18-Inch Covered Oval Roasterby Columbian Home Products (0509-1) ![]() customer review: This roasting pan is a good deal. It fits our requirements for turkeys up to 18 lbs very nicely. It lacks a rack for which we are searching.

A do everything baking pan! | KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions 16-1/2-Inch Roaster with Rackby KitchenAid (50594) ![]() customer review: I just used this to cook a 20 lb. turkey for Christmas dinner. The bird maxed out the pan. Next time I will not purchase larger than an 18 lb. bird as 19 or 20 is too large.
| Other than the size limitation of an 18 lb. bird, the pan and rack are great and well designed. The roasting pan is plenty thick enough. Sure, it's not as thick as the 40 year old Revereware I inherited from my Grandmother, but what is now days that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I made gravy from the drippings right in this roasting pan and did not have any problems. If your gravy burns using this pan, it's because your temp is too high and/or you're not stirring enough. I look forward to many years of use. Granite Ware 19.5 x 13 x 9.5 Inch Covered Rectangular Roasterby Columbian Home Products (511-1) ![]() $35.99 customer review: It works out well for us. It's a fairly large pan that's used for multiple purposes. Outside of its use for the yearly Thanksgiving turkey and dressing of our medium sized family (four), it also accommodates our baked and barbecued chickens.
| Calphalon Roasting Rackby Calphalon (RR912) ![]() customer review: This rack is no doubt a good rack, but it does not fit the pan for which it is recommended. In the future, do not sell this rack with the roasting pan. I agree with the other reviewers: it is on the larger side (with the handles it is more like 20 + inches long, not 16) but it fits in my oven just fine. I've found that it is sturdy and distributes heat evenly. And it's easy to clean, too. Definitely recommended. | Granite Ware 13 Inch Covered Oval Roasterby Granite Ware (6106-6) ![]() customer review: My daughters always liked my little "meatloaf pan." Certainly it cooks chicken really well, draining the juices off nicely. No hestitation in recommending it for that. But the design has 2 flaws:
| 1. The bowl at the bottom is very small and with most chickens you'll find that it gets filled quite quickly. You'll need to have another item underneath to catch juices, especially when it comes to taking it out of the oven (unless you've got rock steady hands) 2. Once you've got it out of the oven, you've then got to get the chicken off the roaster. During the cooking process the insides of the chicken that touch the metal tend to stick a little so this is by no means an easy process, especially when you've got boiling hot liquid in the bowl underneath. Other than that, I'd recommend it, but certainly not 5 stars. All-Clad Nonstick Roasting Rackby All-Clad (3016 RACK) customer review: This is a great roasting rack, however, I bought it to go in my All-Clad small roasting pan and it doesn't fit. All-Clad makes a set that you can buy. Unfortunately, I purchased my pan many years ago. | Back to Basics Nut Roasterby Jensen (PC17557) $24.99 customer review:
| If there is such a person as a nut-aholic, that's me! I love nuts and they're nutritious, too. In the past, glazed nuts have always been special occasion treats, bought in small jars or cellophane bags and doled out sparingly. No more! The Back to Basics Nut Roaster easily glazes all my favorites - almonds, pecans, walnuts, cashews in a quick ten minutes on top of the stove. The roaster itself looks a bit like a deep fry pan with a mixing handle in the center. All I do is put the roaster on our electric cook top over medium high and then add nuts, glaze mixture (more about that later) and specified amount of water to pan. Then, simply rotate the mixing handle until the moisture is gone. I pour the nuts onto a non-stick cookie sheet to cool. If any stick together they're easily separated with a wooden spoon while they're hot. Now for the promised glaze info: We really like the Back To Basics Toffee and Cinnamon glazes. For either of these we use 2 cups nuts, 3/4 Cup of glaze and 3 Tablespoons of water. Delish! This past holiday season we gave neighbors and friends jars of glazed nuts for which we received thanks and compliments galore. We also try to keep some on hand in an air tight container for drop-in guests but, to be honest, more often then not they're for us. It has a strong and well-built construction. | All-Clad Stainless Petite Roti Pan with Roasting Rackby All-Clad (51114) ![]() customer review: I can't really "review" this pan since I returned it unused, but I have the "same" All-Clad Petit Roti Pan from just a couple of years ago, and this one is now substantially different. My old one had a flat bottom, great for making gravy after you finished your roast. This new one has a ridge around the bottom, where the juices will drip off into these sides. Very difficult to make a gravy when that happens. This is just my opinion as a cook, I really can't comment otherwise on the product, but this change alone was enough for me to send the pan back. | Metro 23 Pound Nonstick Steel Oval Roaster #1341by Metro (1341) customer review: I had a beat up aluminum roaster that was almost seventy years old and finally bit the dust this year so I need a new one for Thanksgiving. I can't afford to replace the aluminum one as it was huge and others like it cost about 100-200 dollars. So I saw this one for cheap and it said 23
| pound size so I thought I'd give it a try. It looks great and should work fine but my quibble is with the lid. It's just not tall enough. It will work with a chicken no problem and a small turkey, but a large turkey, although it would fit in the bottom will not allow the lid to cover the roaster so I am disappointed in that. The lid is only half the height of the bottom. Other than that it is a fine roasting pan especially for the small price. When I can afford to do so I will get my more expensive aluminum roaster with the huge dome lid like I had before, but until then this is fine. If the lid height is not an issue for your cooking needs then this should work okay for you. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
