customer review: I had been looking all over for one to replace the plain one we brought back from Europe. This is a very useful gadget if you regularly eat boiled eggs. By piercing the shell before cooking the egg, you release the tension and ensure that the shell will not crack. It also allows easy removal of the amnion from the egg. The price was right, but frankly the shipping cost was ridiculous relative to the price. Also, one review said there was an attached magnet, but mine doesn't have one.

customer review: This is definitely the best egg separator available. It is one of the most expensive but in this case you get what you pay for. Very nice to have the separator/cup combo so there is little mess.

customer review: By the time you crack the egg over the egg separator (which is placed over a cup or small bowl to catch the egg whites), there isn't a scrap of egg white left on the yolk, for it has fallen easily into the cup, and the yolk is perfectly in tact. No more cracking the egg, then rotating it from half-shell to half-shell, and still having to use some of the egg white too stubborn to tumble into the kitchen sink, not wanting to leave its companion yolk! I have found the perfect solution in this quality gadget which does fine in the top rack of the dishwasher too.

customer review: This item broke on first use when slicing olives. The wires just couldn't take the tension of cutting through a canned black olive (no pits of course). Pure junk--and now a contributor to land-fill waste. Save your money. It is disappointing that KitchenAid will put its hard-earned reputation/name on virtually any piece of trash these days...

customer review: This seemed like a sturdy little egg slicer when I bought it but two wires snapped and broke the very first time I tried to use this. The wires don't actually line up well with the grooves on the lower half. Don't waste your money.
